The cliffs of the black cows
The cliffs of the Vaches noires extend between Villers-sur-Mer and Houlgate. They are a delight for geology and paleontology enthusiasts. It is the ideal place to share a moment with your family.
These cliffs conceal an important paleontological deposit of world fame. This is why the site was classified “Site of scientific and landscape interest of the Calvados department” in 1995 by the Ministry of Ecology.
For the pleasure of children and adults, come and play archaeologist on the site for an afternoon! Indeed, it is not uncommon to find some fossils, perhaps rewrite the history of the region…

The Villers-sur-mer paleospace takes you back to the time of the dinosaurs. They also offer guided tours of the Black Cow Cliffs. An immersion in the world of the Jurassic very fascinating!
